Alliances are formed for peace, to avoid the inevitable fight. But what if that fight is more inevitable than it would seem?
An alliance between the Cullen family and the werewolves has been standing strong for years now, and not due to the reasons you think. Bella had succumbed to the physical desire for her Quileute; Jacob. She left Edward, shortly after their engagement, and joined Jacob; choosing to marry him instead. Even though decisions had been hard, the out come was gentle and there had been no trouble. But that all changed the day of Bella’s car accident; found by Carlisle and Alice, they both knew the out come of her injuries would lead her to her death; or perhaps leaving her forever crippled. Feeling a great compassion for this small fragile human; she was changed. Perhaps this is what begun the troubles. The Cullen’s and Bella herself had been oblivious to the fact that she was pregnant. Instead of perishing due to the denied growth in a vampire form; and the fact that because it was Jacob’s child, the child survived; forming a part human, part Quileute werewolf, and vampire child. Therefore Jacob’s undying love for his child and Bella survived her change, and formed the now stronger alliance between the wolves and the coven.
Years after these life changing events; a new species emerges from the ever surviving fog of oblivious humans; another shape shifting species, one of mountain lion. Alliances between the prides of mountain lions, werewolves, and the single coven has been strong for years; one of their first priorities is to protect the child who is formed of human, werewolf, and vampire; from the Volturi. But, the Volturi feel intimidated by the Coven’s power and size; and send the odd pupil for updates. When one ‘spy’ comes back with an interesting update of a vampire child; the Volturi feel obligated to set things ‘right’ again. But besides the alliance between the Cullen family, werewolves, and vampires; the Volturi have made their own alliance, one with ‘Children of the Moon’. Of course the Children of the Moon are more or less descendents of werewolves, and have been said to have died out by the Volturi themselves; in desperate attempts to keep their lives and numbers, an alliance has been made.
Because of the Volturi’s low tolerance for alliances and feeling quite intimidated by the power and size of their -in a word- rival group; a war has started. But, it is more or less a war; and due to the size difference; the Volturi will work in many more ways than one would ever expect.
All in all, each species will have to work hard to keep the concealment of Vampire, Werewolf, and Shifting Mountain Lion alike … forever.
