The vampire turned her eyes to face a stream. The smell of animals, long uncared for hung in the air. Her small form turned about her in silence. She closed her eyes. The running stream seemed so close. The waterfall she felt like she could touch. She raised a hand to the sky, the sunlight filtering through the leaves caused her skin to sparkle. Aware of nobody nearby, she felt safe. Then again, she had no reason not too, she was the Volturi Guard.
A sigh escaped her throat. A deep breath to clam herself. For once, she didn't want to remember that, she didn't want to care. Her bright eyes snapped open, her feet finding a simple path through the water. Briskly she moved, racing over rocks to reach her destination. The scent of the water thick in the air. She finally stopped as the sound she longed to hear was heard. A sharp, small waterfall spilled into the stream. Jane smiled, water had that effect on people. This world still held many wonders. She looked about her, the trees making everything a fairytale land. She hopped off her rock, onto a much larger one.
Her form slunk downward, a pale hand shakily reached towards the waters surface. As her hand dipped into the stream, a shock went through her. It was cold......and yet somehow pleasant. It had been a long time since she felt such wonder, her hand made ripples in the stream. Jane watched as the ripples expanded, moving across the surface to the streams edge. She never wondered that anyone would find her there, she never cared to know.
She debated on stepping into the stream. The water looked like it would cover her body here. She didn't really care. She slowly pulled off her dress, leaving a plain undergarment on. She had to have something dry to wear after she took a swim. She silently used the few rocks in the stream to make her way over to the other side. She set out her dress on a tree limb then turnedback to the water. Without hesitating she walked in. The first shock sent a cool gasp from her mouth. Though she didn't feel the same as she used to, she couldn't remember much swimming as a child.

-A couple twigs snapped as Lilium stepped through the forest. It had been a pretty boring day. She'd done nothing as usual, well she did go down to Seattle and feed. Not that she was happy about that. But Zee had practically forced her. Oh come on it wasn't that bad. Zee spoke in Lilium's head. Lilium still wasn't speaking to her, and Zee was pissed. It's not like he had a family or anything. - "How do you know that?" -Lilium said, talking to her self pretty much. - "You didn't even know anything about him!" -She had to force herself to keep her voice down. He's a human, what dose he matter to us anyway. Oh, that hit a nerve.- "What dose he matter to us?" -Lilium fumed.- "You forget, that we were human once." -Lilium did shout a bit.- "We were once, living, breathing, warm, alive. Just like he was." -Lilium sighed, if she could cry, she probley would be right now. That was a long time ago. People have changed. - "Do you realize...." -Lilium stopped.- "That we shouldn't be here?" -She asked her self.- "That we should have died, a very very....very...long time ago?" -Lilium said, lowering her voice again.- "That our very existence, doesn't make sense. We , shouldn't be here." -Lilium said. Oh, do shut up . You're starting to sound like one of those dogs. Zee hissed in Lilium's mind. Lilium sighed.- "I'm ignoring you now." -Lilium said with a nod. Fine, but you're acting childish. - "You forget, I am a child, Permanently." - Lilium said, that's were she drew the line, she was going to ignore Zee for awhile, or at least try to. Lilium headed through the forest some more. Today she wore a navy blue, sailor styled dress, that was striped at the bottom, and had a large white bow in the middle of the coller. Along with that she wore a pair of white stockings, and a pair of white slightly healed, Mary-Jane shoes. Her black, ink like, hair was tied back slightly with a white bow. To say the least she looked like she walked right out of the nineteen twenty's. - "Earth angel....Earth angel..." -She sung quietly to her self. It was then that she reached the river. She stopped, her red eyes watching the other vampire in the water. She was surprised, she didn't smell her earlier. She said nothing. She stayed on the rivers edge, not sure weather to approach or not. Never seen her before. Zee spoke in her mind again. - ----------------------------------------------------------OOC Note: [.b] Heres her outfit, just if you wanted to see it. www.vintageglamblog.com/Images/Shopping/vintage-flowergirl-1.jpg

Jane smelled something harsh. The scent of someone else, too familair to her. She paused in the water, her dark eyes swiveling to catch the intruder. All she could tell was that it was another vampire. With a dark sigh, the simple mask she normally wore re-pasted itself on her face. Her outfit soaked, she could risk getting out to fetch her dress but, then again, she may face more problems for it. It would give the other vampire a chance to get at her, and she needed the chance to have the upper hand. She turned around her for a moment before letting her normal self take over.
"Who's there?"
The sharp tongue of the words reminded her of what she was. She turned her eyes towards the sound she heard, a slight rustle. Turning farther downriver of her, she spotted another child.....the vampire. Her eyes took in her appearance, she couldn't ever be as high up as Jane, as she definitely wasn't Volturi. Jane was at least happy it was a female this time. An encounter with a male would probably have resulted in a fight.
The water lapped at her chin gently as she pulled her arms to the surface. She stared at their paleness in the light seen from above. Today, it seemed to stand out starkly. Her eyes pulled back to the girl, who she soon recognized as having been singing earlier. Jane had particular tastes in music, prefering classical to the rock and pop style of today. Humans were so insipid as to believe they were actually benefiting from such music. Though she did admit a few modern songs were at least worthy of mention from time to time.
"Where are you from? Who is your group?"
Jane was known to keep tabs on everyone. And surely she hadn't seen this girl before. It caused some alarm for her, as she didn't know what to think. The fact this girl had been created might not have been allowed, something to look into in the future. Some vampires tended to turn just for their own purposes, she had already seen that outcome. It wasn't pretty. Then again, neither were most things in life.

-Lilium continued to watch her. What are you doing? Zee asked. Turn and walk away, now. Zee hissed. Lilly ignored her and walked a bit closer to the river, so she could get a better look at the girl. She seemed young, like her. This gave Lilium a bit of reassurance, at least she wasn't the only young vampire out there.-
She didn't recognize her though. This puzzled her a bit. Was she a drifter? Or new to the town. Was she from around here? These questions raced through her mind. Zee however was still pestering her to leave the girl alone. She wanted her to just go back to her cabin , and forget it. But Lilium wouldn't. Not only was she too curious now, she craved some kind of social output. It was rare that she had a chance to talk to other vampires, it was even rarer that they were around her own age appearance.-
"H...H...Hello..." -Lilium said. Great, she was being shy.
Even though she didn't want to be, Lilium couldn't help it some times.- "Were did I come from?" -She repeated.- "Um...I...Live here?" -She said quietly. She then blinked when she was asked who her group was.- "Oh, I...I'm a..alone." -She said with a shrug. She shuffled and looked back at the girl.-
"I...I'm Lilium." -She said. Don't tell her your name Idiot! Zee practically screamed at her. Lilium had to admit, it was rather dumb to tell someone you didn't even know you're name. Especially a vampire, who might be hostile. - "Uh, what's yours?" -She asked, adding it in at the end quickly. She shuffled again.-
Curiosity killed the cat. But satisfaction brought it back.-

A vampire who hadn't heard of her. The tone of the other girl, revelaled to be Lilium, told her that much. she couldn't be nearly as old as Jane, if she did not know this, or at least very sheltered. But, even the once sheltered Jane soon knew the Volturi existed. Her dark eyes lit with merth, the girl was a fool. Harmless, a girl of her own age indeed couldn't cause any more harm to her than a fly. Jane didn't care. The idea itself sparked an odd sense in her. A smile spread across her features when she was asked for her name. The poor girl was far above confusion now.
"My name is Jane Rossi. I am one of the highest ranking guards of the Volturi, which you seem to appear not to know. I came from Italy."
Jane spread her arms out to keep her floating. She didn't really care much if she went underwater, one perk of being a vampire was that she didn't have to worry about human problems. Now used to the harsher feel of the stream, she could move easier, not wondeing what might happen.
Jane noted that something was off about this one. Her eyes said enough. She appeared likely to be gifted. Jane doubted it was safe to go that route. That is of course, if she wanted the poor girl to survive. She didn't really feel like working up the energy to kill her, it was really a waste of breath to bother. She noted her white dress still laying among the bushes. If she needed it, she could always get out and escape this mess. Then again, Jane ws never one to run away from a fight.
"Please tell me you do now know whom I speak of."
Jane wanted to figure out this girl. More from shere boredom than any real need for a friend. It was almost appaling that this child would not know the very people who help dictate her small life. Not knowing that was a very bad thing, not something one wished to speak of. The social repercussions were not pleasant.

-Lilium's eyes got just a bit wider as she learned the girl was a member of the Volturi. Oh look what you did now. Zee hissed in her mind. Sure, say hi to a member of the vampire mafia. - "I didn't know..." -Lilium spoke to her self, low and quickly, she hoped the other girl didn't hear. You better not get us killed. Zee warned.
Lilium knew of the Volturi, just not enough to recognize the girl. This was partially because she had little contact with other vampires, and because she had spent most of six hundred and sixty three years isolated.
She was pretty much cut off from the vampire world. But what she did no about them was that they had emense power. They were pretty much royalty.
Lilium stared at the girl, she was trying to read her but it wasn't working.
But it wasn't the fact that the girl might have been more powerful then her. Lilium knew how to defend her self.
It was the fact that Zee might escape, and every time that happened, Lilium lost more and more control over her bad half.
"I..Do..." -She finally spoke.- "Forgive me for not recognizing you. " -She said with a nod.- "It's just that I'm not around much of our kind." -She said, shrugging her small shoulders a bit.-
You'd better hope she's friendly. Zee spoke again. - "Shut up." -Lilium spoke to her self, again hoping she wasn't heard by the other girl.
"Well, It's nice to meet you anyway." -She said, a slight smile crossing her lips. She figured it was best to at least try to be friendly. Lilium was in no mood for a fight anyway.
She moved to lean against a moss covered tree trunk.-

The girl's words somehow caught her attention. The way she said them was slightly offbeat. Whether or not this girl had a power remained to be seen. Jane's eyes glowed a soft red, she probably should feed soon. At this moment, she could care less. Jane sighed at the girl's look. She didn't know her, not really. That in itself was enough to drive her over the edge, something no one wanted to see.
"So, you don't know me. That's such a pity....it looks like I'll have to make myself better known."
Jane wet her lips with her tongue. A dark look of concentration swept her features as she sent a stab of pain towards the girls arm. Illusion was almost a game now to Jane. Obviously this girl needed to know what was up. The stab should only give her a brief warning of possible worse to come. She really didn't care much for anyone. Being friends wasn't in her vocabulary, it was hard for her to even stay close to the Volturi at times, though her twin would find this an easier task.
A smile flashed across Jane's features. This poor girl really should know what to expect. Jane had back-up, Jane had allies, whom did this newbie really have? As far as Jane could tell......nobody, or at least nobody important.
"Maybe that helps the memory.....maybe not. Either way you should know that I don't like secrets....they annoy me. So, you can kindly tell me what's the matter with you......or............?"
Jane had managed to pick up on the problem. The girls odd tone tended to make an occassional shift, slight, not normally detectable. However, Jane was a Volturi Guard leader. It was easy for her to find the source. And she really didn't like what she was seeing. This girl was naive......too foolsih and innocent not to have problems. Maybe more than Jane really wanted to know.....and yet Jane found herself severly bored. Maybe today was the girls lucky day.

-Lilium opened her mouth to speak but she quickly grabbed her arm and winced at the stabbing pain, a slight low growl escaping her lips. Once the pain stopped she opened her eyes slowly.
What....The hell is she?" Zee asked in her head.
She must be gifted, Lilium guessed. That was the only way to explain it. Lilium had met other gifted vampires over the years. She even had gotten close to one in a coven she was in awhile back. But she had never met anyone with a power like the girl before her.
What now, Genius? Zee asked. Lilium wasn't sure what to do. Ooh... Zee said with a chuckle. Can I come out and play? Zee asked.- "No, now shut up..." -She mumbled quietly. Your being childish again... Zee hissed. Lilium ignored her that time.
She looked back up to the girl. - "I Don't understand..." -She said. - "What do you mean what's wrong with me? -She asked. Oh boy... Zee said, rolling her mental eyes. Lilium was confused, as far as she knew, nothing was wrong with her. To her, Zee was normal. To her, Zee was a completely difrent person.
A very mean person.
Not a mental personality that had spawned from the harsh animal like instincts she had acquired when she was turned. In fact, she blamed Zee for most of her problems.
You Idiot, she means why do you keep talking to your self. Zee said with a sigh. - "But I'm not, I'm talking to you." -Lilium said, still speaking in a hushed, but confused voice. Yes but to her it looks like your talking to your self... Zee said. - "But I'm not..."
- Well she doesn't know that. Zee sighed. Lilly shrugged. She wasn't going to believe Zee. She hadn't trusted her other side for awhile. In the beginning she used to listen to Zee, thinking she was smart. But she soon found out that Zee was dark, and only working for her own gain.-

Jane stepped onto higher ground, moving through the shadows slowly. The traces of the sun were disappearing, the glare fading from her skin. Her feline esque form found no resistance from the waves, or from the impending darkness. Illusion had been her friend for a long time now. She reached the bush, a hand quickly reached for her dress. Moving behind the tree and out of sight, she quickly changed out of her wet undergarment and into the outfit. She felt better, though none more anxious than before. She could have sworn she heard the girl whisper to herself. An odd child.
Arranging her hair as she pleased, is it lay elegantly against her head, she smiled. Her dark eyes gleamed in the encroaching moonlight. No one so foolish should be alone by themselves, regardless of the hour. Her tiny form sprang from the tree, a good distance from the girl, and yet still close. She eyed her with some curiosity as she soon became sure of herself. Yes, this was an odd girl.
"Who are you talking to? I am sure I saw nobody here."
As if to be sure Jane searched the area. She didn't need to move. Her feline-esque hearing and sight made it all so easy. And yet, she could not find another intruder. She turned her attention back to the girl. She was nothing but insipid if she refused this question. Then again, many were so.
Jane sighed and turned back to the water. The hollow look of it now could only show her feelings. Long ago she had felt like shedding them. And for some time, she had. The hollow corpse of a once happy girl followed her. It's now garish appearance the only form anyone would ever know. Shedding your feelings, your emotions, was the only way to save a soul. Trapped like this, Jane soon almost wished she could shed it again. Tie the mask onto her face and pray that it would not fail her. That she could become blind to the matters under her nose however much it might hurt her.

- You might as well just tell her... Zee said in her mind with a sigh. Lilium didn't respond to her that time. She watched Jane step out of the river. She was debating. If she told her about Zee, would she believe her? She doubted it. No one ever did. But then again, what if she didn't tell her about Zee? Lilium remembered the thing the girl had done earlier, she wasn't sure what it was, but it caused her pain, that was something she hadn't felt in awhile.
She watched her go behind the brush and change. Do you really want to find out what else she can do? Zee asked. Lilium sighed. She was probley going to have to tell some one about Zee sooner or later. She shuffled, her eyes moving towards the ground. - "Well..." -She said quietly.- "I was um...Talking to...." -She shuffled again. - "Zee..." -She said. Hey idiot, only you can hear me remember? Zee said, a bit annoyed.- "I...I..can o..only hear here..." -She said with a sigh.- "I...I think." -She said. After a couple moments she looked back up at her. Great, she probly sounded crazy. Then again, maybe she was.
She was curious to see the girls reaction. This was the fist time she had told any one about Zee since she had left her covens, and even then, no one had believed her, in fact they called her crazy. She didn't blame them though, she guessed. When you told people you were hearing voices, they usually sent you to the funny farm.-

Jane stared at the girl blankly for a moment. Her answer had been a little.....well.....quite frankly strange. Jane had never heard of such a thing. Honestly, she didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or call an asylum (if she could find one to house a vampire). She took a deep breath, trying to keep her failing composure. Her eyes turned back to the girl.
"Zee......so.....you really are talking to yourself....."
Jane glanced around. Being with a girl like this raised some alarm. She hadn't really ever seen a mental vampire.....at least not until she had been done with them. This was starting to creep her out. She sensed the cautious shift, she shouldn't get too close to the unknown. Trying to keep her tough composure she straightened her form. No way was she letting this girl catch the idea of weakness or fear. She was slightly disdainful though. It might be good to bring this information back to the Volturi, they had a right to know such things. And personally she was curious.
Jane took a step towards her, daring her to move foward. It had been only a short time since such things had happened. She eyed her surroundings darkly. She had to find leverage in case.........in case there was more than a few complications. She doubted she was going to like this. Her eyes lit on the stream, debating if she should need to follow its path back.
Her eyes flew back to the girl. She no longer knew what to say. She didn't appear like a threat....and yet, this talking to herslelf thing.....Jane didn't really like this. She wasn't fond of it. She had a feeling she may have misread the girl. It was a grave mistake on her part, and she silently cursed herslelf for it.

"No...I'm not." -Lilly sighed.- "I know this sounds crazy. Believe me." -She said.- "But I'm not,I'm not crazy." -Lilly looked at the other vampire. She hated this. She hated Zee. She hated how she was constantly trying to take over. She hated how mean she was. She hated her thirst. She hated every single thing about her other half. In fact, she didn't even know how Zee came to be. All she knew was that she was there, and there was nothing Lilly could do about it. But Lilly had to admit, there were times when Zee came in handy.
Zee was a better fighter then Lilly was, and there had been times when Lilly had switched over to Zee voluntary, and it looked like this might be one of those times. Let me talk to her. - "What? No, I can handle this..." -Lilly whispered to her self. Yea right, your gonna get us killed or something. Just let me talk to her. Zee said with a mental sigh. I'll be a good girl, I promise.... Zee chuckled. Lilly sighed as she looked around. - "Zee, Zee, wants to talk to you..." -Lilly said quietly.-
"Hold on." -Lilly said before she staired into space, her eyes went blank, and she twitched. The amber specks disappeared, and her eyes became a vibrant, deep, red. They were slightly feral, they almost resembled the eyes of a new born, even though Lilly was far from that. - "Hello." -Zee spoke. Her voice had changed too, it was now slightly deeper, and less girlish. She took a step forward. The way she moved was like ADHD incarnate, always twitching and never staying still. She moved in an almost cat like manner too, taking long strides, and always ready to pounce.- "You'll have to forgive my....other half." -Zee spoke with a grin.- "She's a bit...strange."

Jane blinked blindly for a moment. So, the girl had told the truth. Now what was in her place was this other being....Zee.....Jane didn't like the feral tint to this one. The other girl seemed a much safer bet. Not that Jane could ever admit fear. Being in the Volturi had pretty much stamped that out of her. She let her eyes shift to a darker hue and she pranced lightly sidways....testing the waters.
"So.....you'r Zee.How did you come into being?"
This was an odd thing to ask to be sure. However, one could never forget who ran things, who had to be kept in the know. Jane's eyes watched the girl's movements, everything a simple caluclation in Jane's mind. This girl wouldn't try anything funny.....se would be stupid to do so. Particularly since so many were actually quite fond of her.
Jane debated on moving closer to Zee. A second look at her face told her that doing so may be fatalistic. And Jane definitely wasn't one to attract her own death. She straightened her small form...it was better to always look superior and more cultured than your opponet. Intimidation was key. Jane was slightly suprised she'd kept her sharp temper in check for so long. It seemed she was always losing it these days. A gentle, cold smile played on her lips as she paused in her thoughts.
"I take it you two will always be so....connected."
Jane had the idea that Zee ran things, not the other way around. The other girl seemed so meek compared to this killer. Jane kept her guard up, hoping that the other girl, easier to deal with, and if neccessary fight, would show again. She was getting a little bored of their duel act. she had to tell herself not to snap. Control was evertything. Jane took a few deep breaths to steady herself and to refocus. That was all she really needed.

-Zee shuffled and brought a small hand to her chin. She rubbed it, as if she was thinking and looked up.- "Hmm, how did I come into being..." -Zee repeated as she thought. Finally she shrugged and smirked a little.- "You know...I have no idea." -She said.- "I suppose I appeared when Lilly was turned. " -She then smiled.- "Yes, that must be it. I represent Lilly's true self. Who she should be. " -She shuffled again.- "But Lilly, she...Refuses to accept me you see." -She made a slight frowny face.- "She refuses to accept what she really is." -Zee sighed and then looked at Jane.-
"You'd think after six hundred or so years, she'd be able to understand that she can't be so...peaceful."
-Zee chuckled at her own words.- "She insists on feeding on..." -Zee shivered.- "Animals." -She rolled her eyes.- "Animals, when Humans are so easily....killed." -Zee chuckled again.- "You should hear her scream when I [/i] feed." -Zee took another small step forward, not really sure if it was a good idea, but Zee didn't really care.
Meanwhile, in Zee's mind, Lilly was screaming. Stop it! Zee, Stop it right now! Lilly Whimperd. This caused Zee to smirk.- "Hah, you know, right now, she's screaming at me." -She grinned.- "It's Kinda funny. " -She giggled quietly.
She then moved her eyes from the ground back to the girl. She couldn't help but let out a hopefully sigh once she asked if her and Lilly would be so connected.- "Oh, I hope not." -She said.- "Lilly doesn't think it'll happen, but one day, its going to be me in control." -She said.- "One day It'll be me, no other voices, just Zee." -She sighed.-
"Then I wont have to listen to her wining, or be stuck in her mind. The day will come, when I'll be able to do what I want." -She smirked.- "Lilly doesn't want to admit it, but I'm getting stronger." -She said the last three words in a slight sing song voice. It was quite possible that Zee was completely, and utterly insane.- "But, the Volturi Guard, hm?" -She said.- "What's that like?." -She said.- "If you don't mind me asking, Jane." -She added that last part on quickly.-

Jane smiled gently. So, it was obvious this girl was the better part of the team. She felt to some extent that they understood each other. Humans, she felt, were put there for a reason. One they themselves may not be in on. She grinned lightly showing some fangs. She had the odd feeling that Zee and her would get along just fine. Hearing her responses only confirmed it. Who really needed a weakling in the driving seat anyway? The main concern with Zee, Jane noted dully, would be control. If she let emotions control her she'd be deadly but, not in a good way. Jane had learned a long time ago that such a balance was neccessary to keep one sane.
She eyed the other girl with a nod. Her question about the Volturi Guard wasn't irrational. And yet Jane wasn't completely positive as to how to say it. It wasn't like she typically got asked this question, she really never had to come up with the answer. She thought for a moment and choose the simplest of routes. Straightfoward was best. She paused and looked back towards Zee.
"It's hard to explain....of course you call the shots. The Volturi make the rules and enforce them. Nobody wants to disobey. My job is to keep everyone in line, as well as do some surveillance work. Mostly....with this power, I get the harder jobs. The killing particularly.....being royalty does have it's perks. Sometimes.....it can be hard though."
Jane looked at the ground. Her growing feelings for Aro caused her a lot of pain. She smiled wanely. He would never see her in the same way he had seen Bella. To him she was just herself. Nothing fancy about her anymore, though once she had kept his interest, much like her brother. Some days were more of a struggle now.
"See....I.......I kind of like the leader of the Volturi, Aro. I shouldn't admit that but, it's not like he'd care. To him I'm just a pet....sometimes I wish I wasn't stuck in so young a form."
She looked back at the water, searching to find a rock. She hastily skipped it across the water's surface, watching it bounce towards the other shore. She didn't know what to do about things anymore....a first for her.
