GENERAL APPEARANCE:

It's a species requirement that Jasper, like all other vampires, be alarmingly beautiful. This term certainly seems to match up with the honey blond veggie vamp's appearance, with his golden hair that is generally either spiked up at the front [Damn. Speed breeze. Or awesomeness, he's never sure which] or has the casual disarrayed, tousled effect that most humans spend hours perfecting - but they never seem to get it right. Jasper's hair just does it on command. It has subtle variations on it's colour, palest at the tips and darkening by a few shades at the roots, which give it a pretty awesome gradient effect. Oh, and his eyes have that, too. They're almost always a rich ochre colour - think melted butter with topaz chips in it - and they're hidden under long, dark eye lashes that help give off the impression of a much deeper personality than just the surface - which is also true.

But the colour of his eyes isn't set in stone, however. Over a period of time they gradually darken, until eventually even the whites are consumed by a dark, and frankly unnerving coal black, a pitch obsidian. This is a fairly rare occurrence, with Jazz trying extra hard to avoid eating people or anything, but when it does happen, they strike off well with the dark circles under his eyes, contrasting with his alabaster skin. Which is, as aforementioned, paper white and absolutely flawless, and freezing cold to any human who comes into contact with him. Stick him in the sun, however, and he doesn't burn - he freaking sparkles. A 6"3 diamond. Wonderful.

He has chiselled, well defined features that run parallel to whatever teen heartthrob is currently all the rage, with full lips and high cheekbones. His arms are, yes, fairly muscular, though not so much as his adoptive brother - but enough to give off the air of one who runs away to the gym at least a few times a week. Well, he'd probably break stuff accidentally if he did - and besides, he doesn't need to. His body stays the way it is, just like rock.

MOST LIKED FEATURE:
His eyes are much better gold than red - well, he thinks anyway.
His height is pretty awesome. Even if Emmett is taller.
MOST HATED FEATURE:
His scars remind him of an unwanted past.
That his hair almost invariably falls in his eyes, but that's the only problem.

GENERAL PERSONALITY:
Jasper tends to make wildly differing first impressions. For starters, he can come off as cold and distant, or rather aloof - the wrongful idea that he's an uncaring, proud blue-blood of some type with no compassion. In fact, Jasper just finds it easier to stay away from humans as much as possible. Once you get past that -or, in his family's case, they already have - Jasper is an exceptionally warm person. Despite his military mindset, Jasper has an extraordinary sense of compassion - brought out by a mixture of Alice and his strange emotional capabilities. Much unlike Rosalie and Emmett, Jasper has only married Alice once, believing that their commitment doesn't need material replenishment. This doesn't mean he just ignores Alice - opposite. He dearly loves to spoil her, and is fiercely protective of her general wellbeing.

Since Jasper became a member of the Cullen family (and was sentenced to being Rosalie's 'brother'), he has become noticeably more comfortable socialising and less violently defensive. Though he still struggles with his new diet regime, over the past few years he has become accustomed to it, and therefore a little more comfortable around humans. This means that he's loosened up slightly, though he still remains perhaps overly protective of Alice at times. It seems that's never going to change, though his compassionate side grows every day. On a more saddening side note, Jasper is still painfully ashamed by the fact that he occasionally imagines how he could drain a human walking past when the wind blows a particular way, or other such trivial things.

GENERAL HISTORY:

Jasper Whitlock was born in 1843, in Monterrey, Mexico. He grew up with his family as an only child, his parents middle class citizens. When he was 17 he joined the Army, lying about his age to get in. For three years he served, rising quickly through the ranks as his superiors found him trustworthy and responsible. One day, Major Jasper Whitlock was evacuating a certain area of his city as war threatened to arise, and he caught sight of three stragglers. Three young women, all exceptionally beautiful. Jasper, of course, approached and inquired after their status and situation. Unfortunately, these were no women - they spoke about him for a minute, before one, the oldest, said something about wanting Nettie gone so she'd be safe. Then she leaned in - and for three days Jasper burned on his makeshift pyre.

When he came out of the metaphorical fire he was a strong newborn, and the woman who'd changed him was leaning over him. With freshly scarlet eyes - not as bright as his though. It turned out her name was Maria, they were vampires, and she wanted him in her army. the army fighting for the City. So Jasper was in his element - and he was soon in control of most of her Army, levels of close to 25 newborns, as he was very 'charismatic' and had a calming influence on their violent tempers. Unfortunately, though, he was also in charge of destroying them when they outgrew their strength. This upset him, as he could feel their emotions, and soon Jasper grew depressed.

So one day, Jasper left with two of his other companions - Peter, a vampire equal to him in rank, and Charlotte, Peter's mate. Though this helped him somewhat, as he didn't have to destroy more helpless (sort of.) newborns, he still felt awful about taking human lives. So one day, as he entered a diner to avoid the rain, a short female skipped off a bench seat and skipped over to him, announcing that she'd been waiting. Jasper introduced himself, the pair joined the Cullens, and he's never looked back after meeting Alice.

In the brief silence that ensued, tacked on to his slight venting of the backlog of feelings about that total wreck of a party, Jasper ruminated over the newborn and her effects on his family. Her unusual emotions, with their crystal clarity and something like a protective air to them, made her much like himself in some ways. In that she'd briefly desensitized herself to the situation, to avoid the anger flung at her by Rosalie and avoid rising to it, thus sparking a larger conflict. Much like she knew too much of fights and schisms and wanted no more of them. His eyes narrowed as he considered how to word this. "It's almost like she has a deep-rooted fear of being the target of other's anger - she had this sick recognition when Rosalie started yelling. It's unusual. Makes me wonder what her past's like.". Swinging his legs into the cool (to him, pleasantly warm) air beneath his feet, Jasper stared down at the fleeing birds for a moment. So comparatively weak - fleeing the rain. Their bedraggled feathers would have been hard for humans to spot but Jasper could see every spoke of wet down, grey and black and brown and green and red and yellow and hints of blue and the flash of light in their eyes- Alice interrupted him.

His topaz eyes flickered to her own, that moment in which he felt that she knew everything he felt (much like he knew everything she felt.). She was saying that what he'd done had been helpful - Jasper failed to see how, but he could feel the burning sincerity behind the words. Jasper answered by wrapping his arms around her tightly, uneasy at the memory of her on the ground. When Alice admitted that they did need to buy a new microwave at least, Jasper gave a soft peal of laughter and shook his head slightly, his smile almost resigned. "Thank you. It.. it means a lot for you to understand how I felt, even through your pain." Jasper shivered unconsciously and quickly moved on, keen to push the horrific memory (her taking his hand and it burned, though he refused to let go - that bone-crushing ache writhing through the core of his existence.) His breath quickened at the memory. "I don't mind having Kai there. She helped you. But she hurts Rose unintentionally, which hurts Emmett. But I owe her." Jasper frowned in his internal confusion, but disregarded it. "And I love you."
