From Vampires to Bird-kids?

I didn’t know where else to put this rant- because that’s exactly what it’s going to be.

Okay, so everyone knows that before Twilight Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart weren’t very popular names, correct? Well, Catherine whatsername apparently wants to make the two of them even more famous. She’s going to be directing the movie that’s based on the Maximum Ride series- a series which I dearly love- and apparently she’s going to have Kristen try out for the part of Max and Rob try out for the part of Fang. -if you don’t know who they are, I really recommend the books-

My opinion? HECK NO!

Max is supposed to be this kick-ass, sarcastic leader who has to fight for her life on a daily basis and grew up in a dog crate (I'm not really spoiling anything, you learn this in the first five pages of the first book) and Fang is this quite guy who rarely says more than five words at a time, rarely shows any emotions that can actually be detected, and is frequently described as Middle Eastern.

I’m so upset about this that I can’t even put my thoughts into words (not for lack of trying, either.) Don’t get me wrong, I love Rob and Kristen, and I’ll admit that last year there was this guy in my art class that my friends and I dubbed Edward Cullen guy because he looked EXACTLY like Rob Pattinson. It’s just that they aren’t Max and Fang, and I don’t think I’d hold the same respect for the books if they were cast as the parts.

Besides, they’re famous enough as Edward and Bella. They don’t need to be in another book series that’s currently got five titles and is still growing, do they?

I havent read the books, but in my opinion Rob and Kirsten wont have the time to take on another demanding series, they rarely have time now, if you think of all the time they are needed on set and for promoting twilight etc not to mention the odd movies they are making in between.

I doubt the two would want to take on another demaning role etc etc

If they did it would only attract loads of rob/kirsten fanatics and be really crappy!

I don't know how to explain how hilarious that is. The idea of Rob and Kristen playing Fang and Max isn't nearly as horrifying as the idea of Catherine directing Maximum Ride!

With all the tripped out camera angles that she used in Twilight... can you freaking imagine what she's going to do for the smallest scenes that she perceives as "intense"? (Think the whole "say it. out loud." part in Twilight!)
