Radioactive Spiders and Kryptonite
Trivial things like --
FULL NAME:Leah Hayley Clearwater
NICKNAMES: Lee-lee, Lee
AGE: 18
BIRTHDAY: 3rd October 1992
SEXUALITY: Straight
JOB: Unemployed - Graduated.
SPECIES: Shape-shifter
CANON: Yup.
Feeble rainbows that shimmer coldly
GENERAL APPEARANCE:
Well, despite the fact that Leah's personality is well - okay, a little spiky - it cannot be said that she is ugly in any shape or form. If truth be told, it is in fact quite the opposite. Leah, with a little help from the whole freaky werewolf genetics thing going on, stands at a quite tall 5"11 - which is small enough that she's the smallest dog in the pack, and fairly tall amongst other people her age. Normal people, that is. Her skin, which has no excess weight on it at all [and yet, all the right curves in all the right places] is a rich, honeyed copper tone, a perfect tan thanks to her stellar Quileute bloodlines. her figure is slim and athletic, aided by the exercise she gets chasing those freaking leeches around.
Her hair is a long, dark tangled mass that falls down to her slender collarbones, a shimmering chocolate mass. It has natural bronzed highlights that reflect the sun. It falls over her delicate features, partially obscuring one of her wide, innocent looking eyes - which are dark chocolate brown, with a lighter ring of amber around the very edge of her irises. She has thick dark eyelashes, like feather dusters, that give her eyes a dark and intense sort of smoky, smouldering look. In an exotic way, it's beautiful. When it comes to clothing, Leah generally keeps it pretty simple - well, she does now that she explodes into a dog. She goes with the whole black denim shorts and white singlet top thing - because they're easy to get in and out of.
So, now it comes to the canine side of things. When Leah phases, she takes on the form of a slightly smaller, grey wolf. Her underbelly and paws, as well as her jaw and the sides of her muzzle, are a lighter cream in colour, darkening to a grey helmet on the top of her head. The tips of her ears are black in colour, a dark obsidian that matches the top of her tail and a dorsal stripe running along her spine. Her flanks run in gradient, the dorsal stripe running from black to grey to the cream of her stomach, with a few darker flecks running through it. She has a few tawny patches near her eyes, too.
MOST LIKED FEATURE:- Leah kind of likes her hair, in that's long and warm on her shoulders
- Her eyes, and their lashes. They're wide and big and pretty.
- She's quite a fan of her slender, athletic figure, too..
-And her wolf self, she likes all of it.
MOST HATED FEATURE:- Leah can't stand that even in winter, she's tan - she wouldn't mind being pale.
- She doesn't like her feet, which are narrow, Trivial, but still.
HERITAGE: American -- Quileute
ETHNICITY: Quileute.
Over fragments of smashed CDs;
GENERAL PERSONALITY:Ah, Leah.. a fascinating creature she is. Now, contrary to a few popular beliefs, Leah was not always a compassion free zone, a cold and clear-cut individual. Before the whole 'hey by the way, werewolf. We've stolen your sweetheart.' thing went and blew up Leah's entire, defined world, she was a sweetie - a good sense of humour, witty, and adored her friends. And you know, she still does - Leah has a very clear definition of loyalty, and it takes a lot to sway her opinions - she is, after all, an exceptionally strong willed individual who dislikes being reliant on other people for things she either wants or needs. It makes her feel kind of weak, and if Leah is anything, it's certainly not weak. Or if she is weak, it's about as weak as a reinforced steel door - so, there you go.
But that doesn't mean Leah is all that bad. Despite a few of her personality-wise failures, she's actually been known to be quite a nice person! Enough gasps of shock, please - Leah does in fact have a rather sharp wit and a good sense of humour - she likes to laugh and joke around, it's just that everything like that got much harder when the Pack began, when her life was pulled in so many different directions at once. Her humour revolves mostly around well-placed sarcastic comments, which she has since manipulated to slide into the 'Hurtful' range of things. And once you can drag her, kicking and screaming, out of her spiky protective shell [if she doesn't kill you first] she's likely to be quite a good friend to you.
That is, if she doesn't kill you first.
HOBBIES:
- Running; takes her mind off stuff.
- Music - though she's not musically inclined, she adores her iPod [see below.]
- Swimming; the water's always so distant and calm.
- Reading, if only because it's easy to lose yourself.
DISLIKES:
-Having to share her mind with Sam. That's painful.
-Having no secrets or privacy.
-The whole 'Alpha Voice' thing. Leah loves her free will, and losing it is painful.
- Eating raw - her human mind rebels.
- Having to 'play nice' with the bloodsuckers.
LIKES:
-Running. Hell, she's fastest in the pack.
-Phasing when no-one else is.
- Privacy. She doesn't like her mind open.
- Music -- sometimes super-hearing isn't what you want.
- Rain. Leah adores the way it makes everything new and bright again.
FEARS:
- Losing control - she likes to be in charge of herself.
- To an extent, imprinting, although she wants to - how does she know it's right?
- A massive vampire population boom - their Volturi.
- Seth getting hurt.
SECRETS:
- Leah wants to imprint, so he won't be hurting anymore.
- She's jealous of Quil, Sam, and Jared.
- It's hard to look Emily in the eye.

Sharp enough to kill, sharp enough to love
GENERAL HISTORY:
Okay, so the first seventeen or so years of Leah Clearwater's life were perfectly normal. Life passed in a contented, brightly coloured blur of first teeth, scraped knees, fads to do with butterflies and such. And when Leah was five she started school - which the witty, strong-willed child took to as a duck may to water. She loved it - not for the learning but for the opportunities it brought with it, the new scenery and the chalk boards, the friends, the birthday parties, everything. And there was her baby brother, now - who was at this point in her life still a fairly novel experience for the child - Seth. Leah proceeded to then breeze right through her junior schooling years, happy enough in her group of friends and getting a fairly decent run of teachers. Straight Bs and As kind of student, you know the type - where they work hard just so they can go do what they want to.
And so life went on.
Life didn't start twisting over backwards to get just that little bit harder for her till Lee-Lee reached her senior schooling, where grades really started to matter and mean something. She and Sam Uley had a bit of a fling going on - Leah adored him, gravitated to him. Everything was running fine until suddenly Sam just spacked out and wham, for two weeks just vanished right off the map. The Clearwater daughter spent the next two weeks surrounded by a group of her friends, chewing her nails down to the quick and freaking out, fearing what had happened to Sam. Her Sam. And, y'know, he was her Sam.
Haha. Bittersweet.
Sam returned and Leah was beside herself with hardly suppressed relief and happiness, just to have him alive and here, with her. But he was kind of.. different. He was reserved and burning to the tough, vanishing at intervals to god knows where. Leah thought little of it, until she brought her cousin Emily Young down to visit from the Makah rez. And then everything just.. crashed and burned. Sam looked at her and never looked back - Leah could see she didn't stand a chance. Emily was appaulled and left Sam alone, until one day he got mad at the whole situation and mangled her - and that inspired love. Leah keeps her game face on, but she retreated into her 'spiky shell' since then and made life hard. But life got harder back at her - one day she just.. just snapped. Her world shook to pieces and suddenly she was a giant puppy, the shock of which induced her father's fatal heart attack, which eventually killed him.
Leah has to live with that, and Sam, every day.

Well, it was true! In those god-awful movies where the couples lie on the grass in the sunset, talking about how pretty it all is, they always seem to be in the sun. Wasn't rain prettier, anyway? Jase found it oddly mesmerising - the perfect angles at which it fell, the silvery haze and the rapid cooling of the air, especially in summer. The soft humming buzz as it hit the ground and washed away the horrors of the day, cleaned it all off and gave it another chance. Jase frowned thoughtfully out the window while he ran through this mental tangent - which really only took about an eighty-fifth of a second. And the sparkle thing.. seriously. Was there some kind of management decision Jase had been unlucky enough to miss out on? 'Well, all if favour of sparkling and thus looking decidedly stupid, say aye..'. Mm. Subtle right there, evolution. "I guess you would need rain and/or thunder for vampire baseball.." he mused, arching his eyebrows. "And that sparkling thing.. I mean, we aren't angler fish or anything [in case this happens to be true, let me know] and we don't need light to attract prey, so it seems fairly superfluous.." He wrinkled his nose in disdain that he still managed to make look perfect. That part of vampire life wasn't so bad. Hell, Jason could pull off a tucked in shirt and pens in his pocket and still look great - but thankfully he had much more taste. And despite the rain, he did still think Kate looked great - he just downplayed it with a perfect poker face.
Owned.
Five-star? He wasn't even sure this strange liquid that was almost, but not entirely, unlike coffee deserved for it to be served in a restaurant at all. Maybe a dingy little truck stop where there was always someone passed out at the bench, a corpse in the dumpster with a knife in it's back, and an exceptionally blond waitress who seems intent on trying to out stare you, which they always seem to think is attractive. Horrible places. And while the waitress took Kate's order, Jase just rain-gazed and dragged her stress levels down. But the whole room noticed it - the laughter got more abundant and louder, the children joining in with tinkling laughs of their own. Jason ignored them and tried not to think about it. The waitress cracked a bright smile - which she certainly hadn't been doing before. When she left Jase dropped the spoon he'd been absently twirling into the coffee and looked back at the vampire sitting opposite him - who proceeded to bug him about what he'd just done. Jase kept his answer fairly ambiguous. "Mmm - let's just say I'm very concerned with the emotions of others." And, there - she was gifted too. He was immediately fascinated but kept himself impassive, a perfect poker face. "Oh? What might that be?" Which was when she ordered her Shirley Temple [Jase shook his head with a playful grin] and the waitress buggered off still grinning like an idiot. So he let go of his hold on her emotions. It was easier to amplify negative emotions than decrease them, anyway.
So, whatever.
And then Kate started answering his question and he again rested his jaw on his fingers, pushing the coffee out of the way with two fingers. It made a strange scraping noise over the table. So she was settling into her move from Alaska well. Jason half-smiled and bobbed his head in acknowledgement, but otherwise remained quiet. Well, what could he say? And one of her friends was getting married - "Wow," Jase commented with a grin, and when she mentioned it was formally unannounced he shot her a mischievous smirk. "Oh, don't worry - secret's safe with me." She asked how his life was going and Jase exhaled slowly, raking over the past week to see if anything interesting had happened. "Dull," he admitted. "I went to go see my sister's grave, and then I came here.. Other than that, fairly uninteresting." When he mentioned his sister he glanced away, but said nothing more on the matter.
Before they implode in a pretty catastrophe and they're gone.
